Did a great job coming out and identified the problem showed me pics of the unit frozen over unfortunately my AC is no longer fixable but I appreciate that the technician didn't try and sell me unnecessary components.

The technician who came out and repaired our AC unit was very knowledgeable and had great customer service skills. He got our home cooling down right away. I so happy we have such a reliable company in our town I personally use this company for my own home and I had them come out and check on my sisters AC whom she has been having issues with since MAY I’m sorry to bash America Shield and their AC company who can’t seem to fix the issue. Jon the technician came out and found the issue immediately mind you my sister has been getting the run around since May of this year thank you Shaw what would we do without your knowledgeable technicians.

The receptionist was very nice and scheduled a tech to come out the next morning. The technician was quick and efficient and gave me all the information I needed to make a decision. Very quick response and I would call them again in the future.

Noah introduced himself. He asked if we had any issues or concerns. I advised him I was a little concerned about the loudness of the unit start up in the cooling mode. After servicing the unit, Noah advised me some units are a little loud each time it starts up to cool the house. After servicing the unit, he told us everything was good. All of our concerns and questions were answered. Noah was professional.

they will rip you off. Shaws charged my elderly parents $ 900 to change a $ 60 capacitor !!!!

If someone called us and asked for a new capacitor, you know we would have gladly sold it to them for a lot less than $60, and we’d likely have driven it out and installed it. I can't find a record of our repacing a capacitor for $900, so you may have us mistaken for another company, but it doesn’t really matter. The fact is, nobody calls asking to buy a capacitor. They call because it’s icky, sticky hot and their air conditioning quit. It could be the capacitor, the fan motor, or one of the other components in the system that decided they’d had enough. The only way to know for sure is to have someone do a proper diagnosis. It’s our policy to always thoroughly inspect every home comfort system we work on to make sure there are no issues that could affect the operation or the safety of the homeowners. This all takes time and training. The last thing any of us want is for our parents, comfort, health, or safety to be jeopardized because someone did a cheap fix instead of correcting a serious problem. If we did diagnose and replace your parents' capacitor, it would be backed by Shaw’s Risk-Free Warranty and replaced for free, parts and labor, for the next five years. And if they were unhappy in any way, we would refund every cent they paid. KK, I would be honored to discuss this further with you. Please call me anytime. Jeff Shaw

Excellent customer service at a moments notice. Matt came out quickly on a Sunday, and was very professional and expertly diagnosed our system. Gave a thorough assessment and explained all aspects of the system and fixes. I would like to start by saying I have been a customer for approximately three years now. I have been happy with the service and bi-annual updates Shaws provides. They even regularly drop off air filters for me when I ask. Over the past weekend my air conditioner stopped working and I needed a tech to come out and look at it. Prior to a technician coming out I did my own research and determined the air conditioner needed a new “run capacitor” which cost approximately $17 on Amazon. I decided to buy it but, just to be safe, still had the technician come out. When the technician came out he came to the same conclusion it was in fact the run capacitor and it needed to be replaced. The technician quoted the replacement at $770. For those that are reading, I was going to be charged $770 for a $17 part which would take about 5 minutes to switch. I explained I had already bought the replacement and would install it myself. The technician showed me how to replace it and the safety concerns of me doing it myself. The tech was polite and left after explaining everything to me. The reason I am giving this a 1 star rating is because of the up charge on the part, if my math is correct, almost 5,000% increase.

I know it can seem outrageous to be asked to pay so much for a part you can replace yourself for a fraction of the cost, and I appreciate you giving me the opportunity to explain. Raising kids, I can’t remember how many times I’ve been in the emergency room because one of my little ones had an ear infection or strep throat. The cure was usually a cheap antibiotic, and they were all better in short order. While the cure was cheap, it took the training of a physician and a properly outfitted medical facility to make sure the diagnosis was correct and something more serious wasn’t overlooked. Servicing and repairing your home comfort system is no different. Sometimes, all you need is a new capacitor. But after a few decades of keeping families safe and comfortable, we’ve learned there are often bigger problems that, left untreated, can lead to serious problems. Capacitors often fail if they are cheaply made, so we use only quality units we know are reliable so we can back them with our worry-free warranty- if they fail, we replace them for free. Sometimes, capacitors fail because of fluctuations in the power supply that feeds them. This indicates a serious problem in the system’s electronics. Simply replacing the capacitor won’t fix the underlying issue, which can lead to catastrophic failures that can be much more expensive and even dangerous. Every time we have the honor of helping someone, we thoroughly inspect every element of their home comfort system to make sure it is safe and reliable. The last thing any of us want, you or me, is for our technician to fix a problem but miss a more serious issue that jeopardizes someone's health and safety. The fix is often pretty cheap and easy, but it takes proper diagnosis and care to ensure the “fix” is correct. If we had replaced your capacitor and it failed again within the next five years, we’d replace it for free. More importantly, you’d have the peace of mind knowing your family was safe and your home comfort system was in good shape. Victor was very knowledgeable, friendly, and professional. The inspection was very thorough and we were given multiple options to fix our A/C.UPDATE: The install went great. Again, all the guys were very professional, and the whole install was completed extremely fast. I expected to wait weeks or months; but they had it all fixed within a few days.

Service has always been great. Very professional and friendly. Today I was floored by the charge to simply connect my EcoBee thermostat. Almost 400 to simply connect the thermostat to the wires. Ouch. Thankfully I was only charged for the service call. Don’t get me wrong I don’t mind paying for the service but it literally took the tech less than 5 minutes to connect the wires. If I knew that would be the charge I would have just stayed with the old thermostat. I would definitely recommend them just ask how much it’ll cost before saying yes.

One of the best places we’ve done business with in a long time. On time, friendly, courteous, knowledgeable, professional. Not enough good words. Excellent service. Communicates extremely well with texts/emails or phone. Office staff very courteous. Feels like a well-oiled machine and family oriented, project a sense of genuine caring. "Are you ready to experience unrivaled customer service and amazingly affordable prices?"- From their website, and I couldn't disagree more. This is price gouging.We were charged over $700.00 for diagnostics and a "required" blower motor capacitor (Titan HD POCF15A) that I found to cost close to $10.00 online. I'm vaguely familiar with some electrical work/components and the cost didn't sit right with me but we reluctantly agreed due to the high heat we are currently experiencing.The blower motor itself was recommended to be replaced at over $1340.00 which included $212.00 to clean, which we declined at the time. Later I found similar replacement motors (part only) to cost between $100-$150.We are local to this company. The tech was at our house for almost exactly 1 hour, 2:40pm to 3:41pm. They stated they have flat rate service charges, no hourly charges.After work I started researching and reaching out to other local HVAC repair companies who told me that we were overcharged. I found the national average for a capacitor replacement service repair is around $200-250 on the high end, and $500-700 on high end for a blower motor replacement service repair. When the two other companies/technicians said they would have done all the work needed for between $500-$1000 my jaw dropped. The estimate Shaw's gave us was over $2300.00.We called on Sunday afternoon, and they were able to have a technician out the next day, luckily because someone else had cancelled their appointment. I know we are paying for knowledge and convenience when hiring a repair technician, and should expect to pay them a fair price. I do not find this to be fair but I'm open to be corrected or convinced otherwise.The technician was really nice. I gave him a cold bottle of water while he was on the roof. He did what he said he would do. However after leaving the HVAC unit still does not work, the recommended blower motor is a required repair needed.I decided to leave this review because of the responses I got from other companies and HVAC technicians. We were returning customers where a few years ago they replaced a capacitor and fan motor. We initially went to them at the recommendation of a coworker/friend. That Job cost us around $1200, so it looks like we were also overcharge back then compared to what I found the average-high end repair costs are.*Edit* I am adding proof of these charges and estimates for everyone to see. No, the service was not ordered in my name. However in my review I continuously referenced "We." I was also very detailed, you can now see and can compare the screenshots of the estimates from Shaws Home Comfort. Also for you sir, the screenshot with the quote I pulled from your website.There is no way they did not know what service I was referencing, it only happened yesterday June 10, 2024. This goes to show the dishonesty in their dealings.
